A series of webinars on the topic “Enhancing Soil Health – Insights from India” was organized on 10th October 2024 in which the process of soil collection, testing and dissemination was shared in a value chain approach by scientists from Patanjali Organic Research Institute, (PORI) Haridwar, India. The use of IT for traceability of the entire process was also explained. This webinar was jointly organised by Action Network Worldwide, Global Agricultural Extension and Rural Services and PORI. The webinar shared experience of extensive soil testing conducted by PORI in Haridwar district. The learning’s from the field provided valuable insights and actionable points for sustainable soil management practices and community engagements. Participants from India and a dozen countries attended the webinar. The webinar concluded with Q & A Session and addressed the queries raised by participants.
In continuation of the series on soil health, a webinar on the safe use of pesticides and nutrient management was organized by PORI for participants from Nigeria, in collaboration with Global Agricultural Extension and Rural Services. Participants in the webinar included extension workers from government and other agencies. The webinar concluded with a Q&A session that addressed the queries raised by the participants.
