Yogahaar

While citizens were struggling to keep themselves healthy during the lockdown to prevent the spread of Covid19, team Patanjali Farmers Samriddhi Program (PFSP) under Patanjali Organic Research Institute (PORI) made efforts to help farmers to adopt organic practices by providing them technical support. The team encouraged farmers to share their challenges and organised online meetings and challenges to resolve the technical and other queries. The webinars which were centred on technical support also led to conducting Yoga sessions due to the challenges of COVID and the concept of ‘Yogahaar’ evolved as a voluntary program for conducting one-hour online yoga classes followed with an hour of discussions on organic farming and other important topics.

During the ‘Yogahaar’ sessions, yoga teachers and chief guests from various walks of life (including Padmashree Awardees, Vice-Chancellors, IAS officers, Directors, Doctors, Scientists, Trainers, Farmers, Women, activists), belonging to different age groups and located at different geographies across India, Nepal, Canada and USA, conduct yoga classes and address the participants. The ‘Yogahaar’ sessions have been conducted for more than 400 days without break and new Yoga teacher and Chief Guest conduct the sessions every day.

The discussions in ‘Yogahaar’ sessions are centered on organic farming covering production methodology of various crops, certification, value addition and marketing of produce and other relevant topics on environment, biodiversity, women empowerment etc.
